“My husband was celebrating a very special b-day (this year)!   As the youngest
of seven children I learned that he did not have a childhood photo album.   I recruited the help of his parents and siblings who live out of town to send me pictures and the project began.  

As luck would have it a few months back, someone suggested Memories Out of the Box, a local business that offers three different services for album/scrapbook making: do it yourself; do it for you; and do it with you. 

In my case, she worked with me to create the album.  She offered great ideas, suggestions and access to all the great tools and most importantly a “secret” space away from my husband’s awareness and my daughter’s hands. Since I needed to make an appointment, it also helped me stick to a tight schedule.”

I had a bunch of old photo albums which I hadn’t looked at in such a long time and I was worried about the condition they were in. “Organizing old photos is one of those things you put off indefinitely, and I probably would have never done anything about mine had I not discovered Memories Out of the Box a few blocks away from where we live.  I was not sure what to expect when I walked in with my shoebox full of old family photos, some taken 70 years ago in Russia, but Martie put me at ease and made sure I had all my questions answered before starting on my "project" (like, how could I make sure the photos could be taken out of the album if necessary).  I also appreciated all the subtle suggestions for arranging and ordering the photos (and the original use of duplicate prints that I had), and the sincere interest Martie expressed in my family history.  Finally, based on only a general explanation of what kind of an album book I wanted, Martie was able to track down a company that made exactly the kind of understated quality books I was looking for.  I still have many blank pages left in my album, and perhaps one day Martie can help me fill them up.”
